Anthony Giacoppo of Genesys Wealth Advisers has continued his winning ways for 2012 by taking out the State Time Trial Championships for Western Australia.
In a course record of 53.03 he bested the previous record held by former World Omnium Champion Michael Frieberg.
Anthony started last just before midday and posted the quickest time by some 50 seconds over Sam Davis from Genesys Wealth Advisers. Anthony was very pleased with his ride as he kept getting quicker throughout the race. “The middle section of the course is hilly and so I had to make sure I didn’t go too hard and blow through the hills. Once I got through that section I gave it all on the way home. I actually posted my quickest split on my last split. After I had finished I realized I had the quickest splits throughout all the time checks.”
Anthony will depart Perth on Wednesday for the upcoming Tour of Mersey Valley which kicks off the the NRS series for 2012. He then heads off to the Tour of Borneo.
